NetApp, ENS-Inc secure California Data Center Modernization Contract to deliver data center modernization, hybrid cloud infrastructure

NetApp announced on Wednesday that Enterprise Networking Solutions (ENS-Inc) has been awarded an exclusive three-year contract by the State of California Department of General Services (DGS) to deliver NetApp’s data center modernization and hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions to the State of California.

ENS-Inc is a State of California IT solutions provider, delivering proven and scalable technology solutions since 1999. With expertise in virtualization, cloud integration, and business continuity/disaster recovery (BC/DR), ENS-Inc partners with clients to build vital and secure IT infrastructures that empower the mobility and agility today’s business requires.

ENS-Inc enables clients to securely manage their IT infrastructures from anywhere, at any time, from a variety of mobile devices, while delivering maximum uptime of the crucial IT services businesses and agencies depend on.

For this contract, ENS-Inc serves as the sole provider of a complete catalog of all NetApp enterprise technology to the State of California, including data center equipment and associated data center hardware (for example, servers, storage, converged and hyperconverged systems, on-campus networking, and fabric).

State and local government agencies are moving to the cloud, but on-premises infrastructure is needed for workloads that cannot be migrated to the public cloud. ENS-Inc can now deliver NetApp’s open and scalable on-premises hybrid cloud infrastructure to the State of California, while also enabling California agencies and departments to use their data fabric to control, integrate, move, and consistently manage their data across their public cloud and on-premises data center environments. This flexibility will allow California to design its data fabric to deliver information where, when, and how it is needed for citizen services.

Rubrik provides data management with NetApp SnapDiff APIs across hybrid multi-cloud environments

Rubrik and NetApp announced that Rubrik Cloud Data Management’s technology integration with NetApp’s proprietary SnapDiff APIs, bringing next-generation data services and orchestration for enterprises.

Together, Rubrik and NetApp provide business continuity via data mobility across data center and cloud, decrease time to market for new feature development, increase ROI with smarter data usage, all the while supporting ever-increasing data privacy regulations and compliance.

As part of this strategic collaboration, Rubrik brings unprecedented levels of data control and visibility on top of NetApp Data Fabric. By leveraging integration with SnapDiff APIs across data centers and clouds, Rubrik delivers autonomous, policy-driven data management optimized for cloud-scale environments; hybrid multi-cloud data orchestration via API-driven platform for consistent workflows and self-service automation.

It also offers predictive file search across entire data repository at rapid speeds and granular file extraction; data compliance and governance services, such as ransomware recovery and data classification, via a proprietary metadata framework that aggregates intelligence on data changes, user permissions, and access activity; and hybrid cloud application failover/failback via cloud-native services.

Rubrik’s Cloud Data Management platform protects, automates, and secures applications across data centers and clouds. Users can eliminate manual backup job scheduling with Rubrik’s single SLA policy engine for automated backup, recovery, and archival to public or private cloud – including NetApp StorageGRID.

StorageGRID is a software-defined object storage solution that supports object APIs, such as Amazon S3 and OpenStack Swift. Rubrik also integrates with NetApp SnapDi API, allowing NetApp storage customers to reduce impact on production environments, while delivering faster incremental backups.

Rubrik Cloud Data Management support for NetApp SnapDiff APIs is expected to be generally available early next year.
