SolarWinds Backup for Office 365 delivers cloud-first data protection for Office 365 Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint

SolarWinds, provider of IT management software, launches SolarWinds Backup for Office 365, designed to extend data protection services by helping ensure the retention and recoverability of Office 365 data.

Backup for Office 365 backs up and helps restore Exchange, OneDrive and SharePoint data, managed from the same web-based dashboard used to protect servers, workstations, and critical business documents. The need for effective and affordable tools to help MSPs reduce the potential impact of malicious external attacks or internal user error is growing. 


Related data retention, recoverability, and the ability to demonstrate regulatory compliance is becoming even more critical, as more businesses continue to adopt SaaS applications and shift resources to the cloud.

With Backup for Office 365, users are able to save administrative time by managing Office 365 backups alongside server and workstation backups, keep recoverable copies of Exchange data for seven years, and archive OneDrive and SharePoint data for one year. Backup storage in SolarWinds’ private cloud is included, with more than 30 data centers worldwide to help meet data locality requirements.


Users can often unwittingly (or purposely) delete important emails, or OneDrive or SharePoint files. If this happens, SolarWinds Backup offers the ability to search for, and recover what is needed. If employees leave and the company does not want to continue paying a subscription fee to store their email and shared documents, then the SolarWinds Backup for Office 365 offers an additional way to retain and access this data. If the enterprise must comply under regulations with data-retention requirements, SolarWinds Backup is designed to help retain and archive critical data.

With SolarWinds Backup for Office 365, users can manage Office 365 Exchange, OneDrive, and SharePoint backups from a single web-based dashboard. They can also view and manage backup status across customers, and several devices and data types. SolarWinds Backup also helps strike the right balance between automation and control. Users can manually select which accounts and mailboxes they want to protect, or automatically add newly created Office 365 accounts to the backup schedule.

Infortrend incorporates DaVinci Resolve project server into its scale-out shared storage offering

Infortrend Technology releases on Tuesday its highly scalable shared storage EonStor CS that supports NLE software, such as DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro to facilitate collaborative editing of 4K and above ultra-high resolution videos. EonStor CS supports over 100 GB/s performance and 100 PB capacity, making it an ideal storage solution for large-scale post-production studios with more than ten workstations. 

In a traditional architecture, the database project server, which contains reels, edited files and timeline, is deployed on a dedicated workstation and connects to other workstations in a peer-to-peer network for editors, colorists, and animators to work together on the same project. Any single point of failure, however, will pose a threat to the project. 

In light of this issue, Infortrend integrates DaVinci Resolve Project Server into the shared media storage and provides RAID protection to guarantee high data availability. The simplified network architecture also makes deployment and management easier for video professionals to focus more on content production.


EonStor CS is a scale-out shared storage solution that allows enterprises to address the sheer volume of data via its scalable capacity and linear-increasing performance. AutoStore delivers flexible, high-density storage solution enabling retailers to deliver products to consumers in record time

AutoStore, vendor of high-density storage with an existing robotic cube-based, automated storage and retrieval system that has transformed the logistics and delivery process for businesses across the globe. International Medical Solutions launches CloudSync for Google Cloud healthcare customers transitioning to the cloud

International Medical Solutions (IMS), a Google Cloud Partner, announced a solution that will enable radiologists and other healthcare clinicians to transition to the cloud. 

The IMS CloudSync enables radiology sites to transition to the cloud and continue to use their legacy on-premise workstations and DICOM viewers. The front-end solution designed with the needs of initial Google Cloud Platform (GCP) users in mind uses an implementation that enables GCP to be added to an on-premise legacy viewing workflow, where GCP would act as the archive. 



The plug-and-play solution works out-of-the-box and allows PACS sites to sync their on-premise storage of medical images with their cloud storage. The added benefit is the sites can continue to use their legacy PACS workstations to view images stored in the cloud.

CloudSync™ is an out-of-the-box, cost-effective solution that improves clinician workflows while enabling them to use on-prem legacy systems at the same time," says Vittorio Accomazzi, CTO of International Medical Solutions. IMS CloudVue will also be featured at RSNA this year. The solution, which launched earlier this year, is a cloud-based viewing platform that provides the experience of an installed application on any device or workstation. CloudSync and CloudVue can also be used as a disaster recovery solution since CloudSync will upload the on-premise data onto GCP, which can be accessed using CloudVue. At any given time, the user has two copies of the data and at least two ways for accessing it.


Over the last year, IMS has worked closely with Google Cloud to enhance the integration with the Google Cloud Healthcare API, including integrating with machine learning backend.

Codefresh debuts CI/CD Live Debugger that make DevOps platform more responsive

Codefresh launched its live CI/CD debugging tool to take the suck out of DevOps, as creation of CI/CD pipelines is considered a frustrating and time-consuming process. Each change has to be saved, committed and the pipeline rerun from the beginning. DevOps engineers are missing a key component that has been available for software developers for years -debugging breakpoints.



The Codefresh pipeline debugger works similar to an integrated development environment (IDE) debugger. Developers can place breakpoints on one or more pipeline steps and once the pipeline hits one of them, it will pause and a debugging window will open. Users can then test commands, explore the state of the pipeline, and identify required changes.


“The initial feedback from our users piloting live debugging has been very positive. They love how much faster and easier the CI/CD pipeline creation process is when engineers are able to test, troubleshoot, and fix their pipelines with this new tool,” said Raziel Tabib, founder and CEO of Codefresh.



With Codefresh, users can run their pipelines locally and see them executing on the workstation. This helps a lot when it comes to monitoring a pipeline and allows them to run the pipeline in a fully controlled context, such as a laptop.




As more customers are adopting Codefresh, the company wants to help them debug their pipelines in a more user-friendly manner. While most CI solutions offer just a simple SSH connection to the builder node, Codefresh wanted to take pipeline debugging to the next level and allow them to debug the Codefresh pipelines using the breakpoints.


When debugging an application, users can place breakpoints in one or more positions in the source code, run the application in debug mode and inspect its state when it hits any of the breakpoints.

Supermicro boosts performance using high-density, embedded servers with the Intel Xeon E-2200 processors

Super Micro Computer enhanced on Thursday performance on a range of servers, workstations, and motherboards that leverage the new Intel Xeon E-2200 processors. 

In addition to refreshed four- and six-core processors, Intel has introduced new eight-core processors where the top frequency rate can increase to 5 GHz from 4.5 GHz on specific processors with Turbo Boost, bringing up to a 16 percent gain in multi-threaded integer operations. 

The Intel Xeon E-2200 family also supports 128GB of 2666 MHz memory, double the amount from the previous processor generation.  


Supermicro's X11SC-series motherboards for Intel Xeon E-2100 will also support the new Intel Xeon E-2200 processors with eight different models in Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX, and Wide I/O (WIO) form factors for a variety of end markets. Customers can use these motherboards for entry-level servers, SMB systems, workstations, edge computing, and other appliances. 

By installing motherboards based on the Intel Xeon E-2200, customers can increase computing power without additional system reconfiguration requirements, whether they are using an optimized Supermicro chassis, or one of their own. The new Intel Xeon E-2200 processors include Intel Software Guard Extensions (Intel SGX) for enhanced application code and data security.

The Intel Xeon E-2200 processors will instantly increase the computing capability of selected Supermicro systems across several product families. Enterprise and SMB customers can get more performance out of their entry-level 5019C-series servers and 5039C-series workstations.

Data centers that implement MicroBlade and MicroCloud high-density systems, as well as users of the SuperBlade GPU Blade, will also benefit greatly from the additional cores and higher frequency in their multi-node implementations. 


As edge computing continues to grow with IoT and 5G deployments, the Intel Xeon E-2200 processors will enable the addition of more end devices and local processing to support new services with 1019C and 5019C rackmount servers.
